Ranger Steel Services LP, the largest independent steel plate distributor in the United States, today announced that longtime Sales Representative Tom Eckel has been promoted to National Sales Manager reporting to President Jeff McPherson.
Eckel has spent his entire career in the steel business with Ranger, joining the company as a sales representative in 1994. He holds a bachelor’s degree in real estate and finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
“Tom has been a key player at Ranger Steel for 20 years now,” said Ranger Steel President Jeff McPherson. “His promotion is well deserved and probably past due. Tom will play a lead role in Ranger’s ongoing growth and expansion plans, including our entry into the API 2H50 plate business later this month. His experience and firsthand knowledge of our customer base make him a natural choice to take on this additional responsibility.”
Ranger Steel Services LP, the largest independent steel plate distributor in the United States, today announced that Sales Vice President Jeff McPherson has been appointed President and Operations Vice President Jochen Seeba has been named Chief Operating Officer.
Ranger owner Ron Whitley, former President and Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role of CEO. Annette Richards’ CFO responsibilities will remain the same.
McPherson has spent his entire 33-year career in the steel business with Ranger, while Seeba has been with the company for 21 years.
“These management changes reflect the roles and responsibilities that Jeff, Jochen and Annette have held for the last several years,” said Ranger Steel CEO Ron Whitley. “The appointments will help solidify Ranger’s growth mode geographically and in expanded inventory plate grades.”
